Thanks to a homer by Craig Kusick in the ninth inning, Dave Goltz was able to observe his 29th birthday with a victory when the Twins defeated the White Sox, 2-1. Ken Kravec, who had won five straight games, was stopped on his streak in the five-hit duel with Goltz. Kravec was the victim of error by Chet Lemon that resulted in the Twins' first run in the second.
