The Reds got a pair of runs in their first turn at bat when Ken Griffey singled with one out and scored when Frisco center fielder Larry Herndon misplayed Dave Concepcion's single and then threw poorly to the infield for two errors on one play. Concepcion reached third and scored on a single by George Foster.
