John Lowenstein hit an inside-the-park homer in the eighth and when Jim Sundberg got a one-out single, Jim Willoughby relieved and blanked Texas the rest of the way.

The White Sox scored a run in the first on an RBI single by Chet Lemon and added two more in the third on a single by Ralph Garr, triple by Alan Bannister and single by Lemon. The final Sox run came in the seventh on a double by Garr and a single by Bannister. [The Sporting News]
