Getting tight pitching and timely hitting, the Twins swept a doubleheader from the Blue Jays, 2-0 and 7-2. In the opener, the Twins got a run in the first inning on a double by Willie Norwood and single by Bob Randall. In the third, Norwood singled, stole second, went to third on a sacrifice by Randall and scored on a single by Dan Ford.

The Twins forged a 4-0 lead in the first inning of the second game. Hosken Powell walked, Rod Carew singled and Ford stroked a single for the first run. After Mike Cubbage knocked in Carew with a fielder's choice grounder, Glenn Adams doubled and Butch Wynegar lashed a two-run double to cap the inning.
