Jerry Remy knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly in the third inning and Carl Yastrzemski plated a tally with a single in the eighth before the Mariners nicked Tiant for a tally in their half of the eighth on a triple by Julio Cruz and an infield out by Craig Reynolds.
