Getting half of their runs through errors, the Tigers topped the Twins, 6-4. Rusty Staub doubled in the fourth inning and after Jason Thompson flied to right, Staub took third and came home on Hosken Powell's errant throw.

In the sixth stanza, Dan Ford muffed Steve Kemp's two-out liner to center to give the Tigers a run and John Wockenfuss then hit a single to plate Kemp. A two-run homer by Kemp in the eighth put the contest on ice. [The Sporting News]
