Ivan DeJesus drew a walk and went to third on a single by Gene Clines. A sacrifice fly by Larry Biittner scored Ivan DeJesus. After a throwing error by third baseman Elliott Maddox on Dave Kingman's grounder and an outfield fly by Manny Trillo, Cruz doubled to plate Clines and Kingman.
