The Cubs gained their seventh victory in nine extra-inning games this season when Manny Trillo singled with the bases loaded and two out in the 11th to beat the Braves, 2-1. Trillo scored the Cubs' first run, hitting a double in the second and coming around on a wild pitch and infield single by Dave Rader. Rod Gilbreath tied the score with a homer in the third.

Greg Gross walked with one out in the Cubs' 11lth and took third on a single by Bill Buckner. Larry Biittner was handed an intentional pass to load the bases. Bobby Murcer lined out before Trillo ended the game with his single. [The Sporting News]
