Adrian Devine replaced starter Jamie Easterly on the hill and, one out later, a single by pinch-hitter Mike Lum drove in Driessen to tie the game. After a sacrifice by Manny Sarmiento, Pete Rose was intentionally walked. Cesar Geronimo then drew a walk to load the bases.
