Carty's second round-tripper came with two mates aboard in the eighth and pulled the Jays within one run at 7-6. After the first two batters were retired in the Jays' ninth, pinch-hitters Tommy Hutton and Sam Ewing singled and Upshaw drilled a pitch off the left field wall to score both runners.
