The Astros counted their initial pair in the fourth inning on an error by Ron Cey, pass to Watson, single by Art Howe and forceout by Denny Walling. Cesar Cedeno singled in the fifth ahead of Watson's wallop. Steve Garvey hit his 33rd homer for the Dodgers, the most for any Los Angeles player since the club moved west from Brooklyn.
