The Twins erupted for six runs in the seventh inning and defeated the Rangers, 9-7. The big frame began when Larry Wolfe reached first on an error. After Bob Gorinski bounced into a forceout, Butch Wynegar walked and Jerry Terrell doubled home both runners.

Roy Smalley plated Terrell with a single. Willie Norwood walked, Rod Carew singled Smalley home and moved to second on the throw to the plate. Wolfe's first hit in the majors scored Norwood and Carew. [The Sporting News]
