Traveling the distance for the 16th time this season, Mike Torrez allowed only two hits and pitched the Yankees to a 2-0 victory over the Blue Jays. Jerry Garvin, who also hurled the route for the Blue Jays, gave up five hits, including a homer by Cliff Johnson in the second inning and singles by Thurman Munson and Chris Chambliss around a walk to Reggie Jackson for another run in the sixth.
