Willie McCovey, Darrell Evans and Gary Thomasson drove in 10 runs between them and Bob Knepper pitched a five-hitter as the Giants shelled the Braves, 12-2, before a sparse crowd of 877. McCovey batted in the Giants' initial run with a single in the first inning and homered with two men on base in the third.
