Rollie Fingers not only gained his 31st save in relief of Randy Jones, but also drove in two runs with a single for his first hit since the 1973 World Series to clinch the Padres' 5-0 victory over the Cubs. Jones, who allowed five hits, pitched seven innings in his longest stint since coming off the disabled list July 30. Bill Almon and Dave Winfield homered for the Padres. [The Sporting News]
