. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Athletics collected 18 hits and stole six bases, both representing their season highs, but they still had difficulty beating the Blue Jays, 9-8. The Blue Jays had only nine hits, including a homer by Doug Rader. Two unearned runs in the third inning proved essential to the A's, who finally decided the outcome in the seventh when Rob Picciolo batted in two runs with a single. [The Sporting News]
