. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Hal McRae smashed a homer and also threw out a runner at the plate as the Royals extended their club record winning streak to 10 games with a 3-2 victory over the Orioles. The Royals registered a run off Jim Palmer in the first inning on singles by Tom Poquette and Al Cowens around a wild pitch and infield out.

The Orioles came back with their pair in the second, but McRae grabbed a liner by Al Bumbry and threw out Mark Belanger trying to score after the catch, to prevent another run. McRae's homer, leading off the third, tied the score. George Brett drew a walk, went to third on a single by Cowens and scored what proved to be the winning run as John Mayberry grounded into a double play. [The Sporting News]
