. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Starting with a three-run homer by Chris Chambliss in the first inning, the Yankees proceeded to trounce the Twins, 11-1, for their 15th victory in 17 games. Graig Nettles drove in the next two runs with a single in the fourth. After Roy White singled in the sixth, Bucky Dent and Mickey Rivers followed with homers on consecutive pitches.

Rivers' hit was his eighth straight over two games before his streak ended with a strikeout in the eighth. However, the Yankees counted three times in that frame on a homer by White and bases-loaded single by Reggie Jackson. Catfish Hunter held the Twins to four hits with their only run coming in the first inning on a triple by Lyman Bostock and sacrifice fly by Roy Smalley. [The Sporting News]
