. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Frank Tanana gained his 15th victory when Jerry Remy hit his third single of the game in the seventh inning and drove in the Angels' tie-breaking run to beat the Blue Jays, 3-2. Tanana walked Doug Ault with the bases loaded to hand a run to the Blue Jays in the first inning, but the Angels came back with a pair in their half off Jeff Byrd on singles by Gil Flores and Remy, a double by Bobby Bonds and two walks.

Doug Rader tied the score with an inside-the-park homer in the fifth on a fly that center fielder Don Baylor apparently lost in the sun. The Angels put over the winning run in the eighth on a double by Terry Humphrey and Remy's single. [The Sporting News]
