After the Orioles rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to tie the score, Doug DeCinces drove in Eddie Murray with a single in the 13th to beat the Twins, 6-5. Rod Carew hit a double and three singles for the Twins to boost his average to .383.

The Orioles scored twice in the seventh on a single by Tony Muser, double by Ken Rudolph, single by Terry Crowley and sacrifice fly by Ken Singleton before Lee May hit a homer to knot the count. In the 13th, Murray doubled and scored the winning run when DeCinces hit his single. [The Sporting News]
