A two-run homer by Buddy Bell enabled the Indians to defeat the White Sox, 3-1. After the Indians scored an unearned run in the second inning, Frank Duffy doubled and Bell hit his homer in the third. The White Sox averted what would have been their first shutout of the season by scoring an unearned run in the ninth.
