Frank White homered with two men on base in the fourth inning and two pitches later George Brett also hit for the circuit to start the Royals off to a 7-4 victory over the Blue Jays. The Royals added their other runs in the seventh. John Mayberry singled and hot-footed it home on a double by Joe Zdeb. Fred Patek singled, Zdeb stopping at third. White then grounded to Steve Staggs, who threw wildly to the plate, allowing both Zdeb and Patek to score. [The Sporting News]
