. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Carl Yastrzemski became the Red Sox' career leader in hits with 2,655, one more than Ted Williams, to mark a 7-4 victory over the Indians. Yastrzemski smacked a homer in the fourth inning to set off a three-run rally and followed with a single in the fifth when the Red Sox tied the score at 4-4.

Butch Hobson broke the deadlock with a homer in the sixth in another three-run inning. Rico Carty batted in two runs for the Indians with a single and homer for his first RBIs since July 3. Andre Thornton also rapped a round-tripper for the Tribe. [The Sporting News]
