A homer by Buddy Bell in the second inning for his first of four hits started the Indians off to a 7-1 victory over the Red Sox. Bell also scored three other times. The Indians put the game away with four runs in the fourth. Rico Carty and Bell opened with singles, Andre Thornton drove them across with a triple and Charlie Spikes followed with his first homer since returning to the Indians from the minor leagues.
