The streaking Cubs scored twice in the 10th inning and defeated the Expos, 4-2, for their eighth victory in a row. Mick Kelleher batted in a run with a single in the second and Jerry Morales homered in the fourth to give the Cubs a 2-0 lead, but the Expos tied the score in the eighth when Andre Dawson singled and Wayne Garrett hit for the circuit.

In the 10th, Steve Ontiveros singled, Steve Swisher bunted and when Will McEnaney made a late throw to second, both runners were safe. Kelleher followed with a single to load the bases. Gene Clines hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field for the tie-breaking tally and Greg Gross hit another sacrifice fly to deep left field for an insurance marker. [The Sporting News]
