. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The batting of Ron Fairly, the oldest player on Toronto's roster, sparked the Blue Jays to a 4-3 victory over the Mariners. Fairly and Roy Howell hit homers in the fourth inning for a 2-1 lead. Otto Velez walked in the sixth and scored on a double by Fairly, who then crossed the plate with the deciding run when Doug Rader singled. Ruppert Jones hit a two-run homer for the Mariners in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
