Joaquin Andujar allowed only two singles, both by John Stearns, and won his fifth straight game, pitching the Astros to a 4-1 victory over the Mets. Stearns hit his second single in the fifth inning and scored the Mets' run on an error by Julio Gonzalez and sacrifice fly by Bud Harrelson. The Astros had two tainted tallies, but their other runs off Jon Matlack in the fourth were earned on a walk to Bob Watson, double by Cliff Johnson, single by Art Howe and grounder by Gonzalez.
