. . . where the 1970s live forever!
With Wayne Garland hurling a four-hitter, the Indians defeated the Athletics, 3-1, for their fifth straight victory. The Indians broke on top with two runs in the second inning. Bruce Bochte walked and raced home on a double by Rico Carty. After a safe bunt by Buddy Bell, Carty scored as Fred Kendall was grounding into a double play.

The A's picked up their run in the sixth on a single by Mike Jorgensen and double by Marty Perez. The Indians matched it in their half with a pass to Bochte, single by Carty and forceout by Bell. [The Sporting News]
