A perfect day at bat by Dan Meyer, who collected four hits and drove in three runs, featured the Mariners' 6-2 victory over the Athletics. The Mariners used three pitchers, who held the A's to three singles. Dick Pole gave up only one hit before being removed with two men on base in the sixth inning.
