The Tigers smashed four homers among their 12 hits and beat the Twins, 8-3, to end Geoff Zahn's five-game winning streak. After the Tigers built up a 4-2 lead, Ben Oglivie started the homer barrage with a drive in the third inning. Phil Mankowski and Mark Wagner then hit back-to-back homers to kayo Zahn in the fourth.
