A homer by Ben Oglivie in the fifth inning provided the Tigers with their go-ahead run in a 5-2 victory over the Brewers. After a homer by Steve Brye and run-scoring single by Sal Bando gave the Brewers a 2-1 lead in the fifth, Tito Fuentes tripled and crossed the plate on a sacrifice fly by Rusty Staub before Oglivie rapped his homer to put the Tigers ahead to stay.
