. . . where the 1970s live forever!
The Twins rallied for four runs in the ninth inning, scoring their last three runs after two men were out, to overtake the Tigers, 6-5. The Tigers built up a 5-2 lead with a three-run homer by Tom Veryzer and solo shots by Ben Oglivie and Steve Kemp. Rob Wilfong homered for the Twins.

With one out in the ninth, Mike Cubbage doubled to start the Twins' rally. After Rich Chiles was retired for the second out, Larry Hisle singled to score Cubbage. Dan Ford was hit by a pitch. Craig Kusick hit a pinch-double, driving in Hisle and Ford. Jerry Terrell ran for Kusick and scored the winning run on a single by Roy Smalley. [The Sporting News]
