. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Ken Griffey singled in the sixth inning, stole second and scored the tie-breaking run on a single by George Foster to bring the Reds a 3-2 victory over the Cubs. Woodie Fryman, with last-out help from Rawly Eastwick, won his first game since opening day.

The Cubs scored on doubles by Ivan DeJesus and Bill Buckner in the first. The Reds came back with a pair in the third when Cesar Geronimo and Pete Rose doubled and Dave Concepcion singled. Buckner hit a sacrifice fly with the bases loaded in the fifth to tie the score. [The Sporting News]
