Taking advantage of three errors, the Brewers scored five unearned runs in the eighth inning and defeated the Angels, 10-9. Joe Rudi homered with a man on base for the Angels, who were locked in a 5-5 tie before two errors by Tony Solaita and one by Ike Hampton helped the Brewers score in their big inning. Solaita made partial amends with a two-run homer in the Angels' half of the eighth and Don Baylor narrowed the gap with another two-run smash in the ninth before Bill Castro saved the game for the Brewers.
