The Rangers were on the verge of being shut out, but Toby Harrah came through with a three-run homer in the ninth inning to beat the Mariners, 3-1. Gary Wheelock, bidding for his third straight victory, gave up a one-out single by Claudell Washington in the ninth but seemed to have the game in hand when Mike Hargrove forced Washington.
