A homer by Gary Carter in the sixth inning provided the Expos with their winning run in a 4-3 victory over the Phillies. Singles by Tony Perez and Larry Parrish accounted for two runs in the first and Tim Foli drove in Dave Cash with a triple in the second to make it 3-1 in favor of the Expos. Mike Schmidt homered for the Phillies in the fourth, but Carter's clout enabled the Expos to brush off the run scored by the Phillies on a wild pitch in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
