Singles by George Hendrick and Gene Tenace and a double by Dave Roberts produced a run in the ninth inning and gave the Padres a 5-4 victory over the Reds. Doug Rader homered for the Padres in the second, but the Reds went ahead, 4-1, when Joe Morgan hit for the circuit with two men on base in the third. The Padres rallied to tie the score in the seventh on a single by Jerry Turner, pass to Bill Almon, triple by Dave Winfield and sacrifice fly by Tenace. [The Sporting News]
