A homer by Ruppert Jones after a pass to Dave Collins in the eighth inning carried the Mariners to a 4-3 victory over the Twins. Lyman Bostock batted in the Twins' tallies with a homer in the fifth and bases-loaded single in the ninth, but John Montague then stifled the rally when Larry Hisle lined into a double play and Mike Cubbage grounded out.
