A Milwaukee record-setting crowd of 55,120 saw a great pitching duel end with the Brewers losing their home opener to the Orioles, 1-0. Jim Palmer, who yielded only two hits, posted the Orioles' first victory of the season. The shutout was the 43rd of his career.
