John Montefusco, the Giants' boastful righthander, pitched a no-hitter and shut out the Braves, 9-0. A walk to Jerry Royster in the fourth inning kept Montefusco from posting a perfect game. The Giants backed their soph star with a 12-hit attack. Johnnie LeMaster batted in three runs with a double and sacrifice fly, while Gary Thomasson accounted for two RBIs with a single.
