After scoring four runs in the first inning, the Braves erupted for six more in the eighth and defeated the Padres, 10-4. Two of the Braves' runs in their opening outburst came on Brian Asselstine's first major league homer. The Padres pecked away to tie the score before the Braves broke the game wide open in the eighth. Darrel Chaney and Willie Montanez each drove in two runs with doubles. [The Sporting News]
