Making his 22nd start, Pete Redfern turned in the first complete game of his major league career and pitched the Twins to a 3-0 victory over the White Sox. Craig Kusick batted in all three runs against Ken Brett, who had a no-hitter in the works until Larry Hisle led off the eighth inning with a triple and Kusick followed with a sacrifice fly.

The other runs scored in the ninth when Kusick singled with the bases loaded. The White Sox for the second time this season with Brett pitching, did not use a designated hitter. Brett went hitless in three trips. [The Sporting News]
