Jerry Koosman helped set up a run with a sacrifice bunt in the fifth inning and pitched the Mets to a 1-0 victory over the Reds. Koosman, who brought his record to 15-7, scattered five hits, struck out 11 and did not issue a pass. In the fifth, Roy Staiger singled off Gary Nolan and was forced by Bud Harrelson. Koosman then laid down his successful bunt to pave the way for a run on a single by Bruce Boisclair. [The Sporting News]
