The Dodgers rebounded from their no-hit loss to John Candelaria in the previous night's game and defeated the Pirates, 5-1, to snap a six-game losing streak. The Dodgers loaded the bases against Jerry Reuss on two hits and an error in the fourth inning and scored their first two runs on a single by Lee Lacy and sacrifice fly by Dusty Baker. Another bases-loaded situation developed in the fifth and this time Ron Cey tripled to clear the sacks. The Pirates' lone run came on a homer by Bill Robinson in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
