Ken Brett and Jesse Jefferson combined on a three-hitter and pitched the White Sox to a 5-0 victory over the Indians to complete the sweep of a doubleheader. The White Sox won the first game, 3-2, scoring what proved to be their winning run when Bucky Dent broke an 0-for-32 slump with a triple in the fourth inning and crossed the plate on a single by Jim Essian. Brett pitched seven innings of the nightcap and gained his third straight victory since coming to the White Sox in a deal with the Yankees. [The Sporting News]
