Getting two-hit pitching from Dan Warthen, the Expos won the second game of a twi-night doubleheader, 6-1, after the Braves had captured a 3-1 decision in the first game. The Braves, who had failed to score for Dick Ruthven in his last four previous appearances on the mound, finally provided some support for their righthander when Ken Henderson walked in the second inning of the lidlifter and Lee Lacy smashed a homer.

Warthen's victory in the nightcap was the southpaw's first of the season after three losses. Tim Foli decided the outcome, hitting a homer in the fourth inning to break a 1-1 tie. [The Sporting News]
