Vic Harris, who had four hits in the previous night's game, came back with three more as the Cardinals defeated the Braves, 5-4. The loss was the 10th straight for the Braves. Harris drove in two runs with a single in the fifth inning when the Cardinals scored four times. Then in the eighth, Willie Crawford singled and Don Kessinger doubled to drive in what proved to be the winning run. [The Sporting News]
