Tom Grieve, who rapped a homer and two singles, drove in three runs to pace the Rangers to a 5-4 victory over the Angels in a game that resulted in the 11th straight defeat for Andy Hassler, setting a California club record. Ken McBride lost 10 games in a row for the Angels in 1962.

The Rangers built up a 4-0 lead with the aid of a two-run homer by Grieve before the Angels rallied for three runs in the fourth inning. The Rangers then put over their deciding marker in the fifth with singles by Mike Hargrove, Toby Harrah and Grieve. [The Sporting News]
