Don Baylor banged a single and double, drove in one and scored twice to keep his batting average at a .708 pace in his last six games and power the Orioles past the White Sox, 7-4. Dyar Miller posted the sixth save in his last eight appearances to clinch the Orioles' sixth straight triumph.

The Orioles chased loser Wilbur Wood with a pair of walks in a three-run eighth capped by Lee May's RBI single and two-run Ken Singleton one-bagger off Rich Gossage.
