Led by the hitting of Eric Soderholm, Dan Ford and Rod Carew, the Twins posted 7-4 and 12-9 victories to sweep a doubleheader with the White Sox for the second time in two days. Soderholm batted in four runs in the opener, hitting a homer with two men on base in the first inning and getting his other RBI with a grounder in the third. Ford homered in the fifth.

Ford and Carew drove in seven runs between them in the nightcap. Ford accounted for three of his RBIs with a double in the third inning when the Twins erupted for eight runs. Deron Johnson had three hits for the White Sox, including a homer, and batted in three runs. [The Sporting News]
